Black Bear Inn, Ascend Hotel Collection

As soon as we drove up we were pleased with the hotel - great looking exterior, well isolated despite being next to the highway, with good sound buffering. The room was excellent and there was easy access (we were traveling with a dog so getting in and out from the side doors was great). The breakfast area is very small and tight with just a few people, but the quality and selection was excellent. We were just staying for a single night in the middle of a long trip, but this hotel was comfortable and made that single overnight excellent.

This hotel offered one of the nicest rooms we have ever stayed in, and we have stayed in many hotels in the surrounding area. Large room with a king bed, chairs, desk, mini-fridge, microwave, two sinks, coffeemaker, and no carpet! The staff was very accommodating. There was coffee , tea, and soup available in the lobby at all times. We enjoyed the free breakfast in the morning before check-out. There was a beautiful, cozy sitting area in the lobby.

the bed was the most comfortable bed my friend and i have ever slept on. the rooms / building was beautiful and the staff was very kind. there was free ice cream, bagels, coffee, etc. the only downside was the power strip to the mini fridge, coffee maker and microwave cut out in our room while we were staying there. other than that it was a delightful stay

Breakfast was very good and plenty full and I like the idea that at night they had something in the crockpot, whether it be the chicken chili, the chicken and dumplings that was a nice touch

Location was great -toured University of Maine Breakfast was mediocre Price for the room was too expensive! We stayed at the Best western for only $100. As night with a fantastic breakfast!
